MAC address randomization is used to address privacy concerns, such as preventing a smartphone's MAC address from being linked to its location information.
Randomized MAC addresses are referred to as "Random MAC" on Android devices and "Private Address" on iOS devices.
From a security standpoint, our company provides a device connection management security solution that allows only devices with specific MAC addresses to connect to the network. In NetSkateKoban, we assume that smartphones to be monitored and managed will have MAC address randomization disabled, and that their unique, fixed MAC addresses will be registered for operation.
The following provides reference information on how to disable MAC address randomization.
For Android, go to "Settings > Network & Internet > Internet", and select the SSID you are connected to, and open its settings screen, and select "Use device MAC" under "Privacy".
For iOS, go to "Settings > Wi‑Fi", and select the SSID you are connected to, and open its settings screen, and turn off "Private Address".
