Terminals marked with a yellow diamond-shaped "?" icon are those being monitored by SwiMon and indicate terminals for which IP address information could not be obtained.
SwiMon detects terminals by collecting their MAC address information from L2 switches registered as SwiMon Sensors.
The IP address information for the terminal is collected from the default gateway registered in the network information and from the ARP table of the switch registered as a SwiMon Sensor.
Therefore, terminals such as the following will display this message:
(1) The MAC address in question is not using the IPv4 communication protocol
(2) The MAC address in question is rarely communicating via the default gateway
(3) Information collection from the default gateway is not functioning properly
If you suspect that (3) may be the case, please verify the SNMP settings of the default gateway itself and confirm that the SNMP parameters for that default gateway are correctly registered with the Manager (using the "SNMP Access Parameter Editor" found in the "Settings (O)" menu).
