4) The error
messages 'user.home read can't save initial
settings', ‘querePrintJob can't print’, ‘can't use
cut/copy/paste’ are displayed. Is this a java
related problem?
Since NetSkate Visualizer has been
developed using Java’s applet technology, the
application prevents unauthorized updates to the
system. To validate the above mentioned function,
use policy tool (distributed by Sun Microsystems,
included in J2SE). Refer to the manual for use and
settings.
5) Network map
generation isn’t going well
To generate detailed network
maps we recommend setting SNMP for network
equipment (it is more effective if the router is
set to SNMP during setup).
6) What is a
community?
It is something like a
password. Most of the network equipments connected
to the network support SNMP (a type of network
management protocol), which provides information,
such as network traffic. This allows any user to
access this type of information. To limit the
people who can access this, communities are set
for network equipment.
